Para SUKMA Sarawak 2024: Kelantan aims for 18 gold medals

KOTA BHARU: The Kelantan contingent is aiming for 18 gold medals at the Sarawak 2024 Malaysian Sports Para Games (SUKMA) which will begin this September, according to the State Disabled Sports and Recreation Association (Pesron).
Its chairman Mahmood Deraman said the gold target will be achieved by 74 athletes through athletic events, namely 10 golds, one gold in badminton, chess, boccia and field bowling, while two golds each in table tennis and powerlifting events.
He who is also the head coach of Para SUKMA Kelantan said the athletes who will be selected will attend the training center at the State Youth and Sports Complex in Panji here starting July 15.
"Selected athletes will be assessed through classification to determine their status and selection this time involving athletes aged 16 to 35," he told Bernama recently.
The Sarawak Para SUKMA Games will be attended by 1,528 athletes scheduled to take place from 22 to 28 September. — BERNAMA
