The Opening Ceremony of SUKMA XXI will showcase the uniqueness of Sarawak

KUCHING: The unique culture and identity of Sarawak will be featured in an extravaganza performance during the opening ceremony of the XXI Malaysia Games (SUKMA) Sarawak 2024, this Saturday.

Currently, preparations to celebrate the event are being intensified by the Sarawak Arts Council (MSS) before it is presented to about 40,000 visitors later.

Last night (Wednesday) there was a rehearsal on the third day of the ceremony which was also witnessed by Sarawak Government Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki.

The raptai is to ensure that all the programs of the ceremony run smoothly according to what has been planned on the actual day.

Also present was Sarawak Government Deputy Secretary (Operations) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SUKMA XXI Sarawak 2024, Datu Hii Chang Kee together with CEO of MSS Dayang Mariana Abang Bolhassan.

His Excellency the President of Sarawak Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi are scheduled to attend the ceremony later.

In addition, Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg and his wife, Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma'ani Tun Tuanku Bujang will also be present. - Edisi UKAS
