Stephanie’s determined to grab another gold at SUKMA XXI

KUCHING: Wushu athlete, Stephanie Ngu Chai Ern capped off her final Malaysia Games (SUKMA) appearance in style, earning Sarawak its first gold medal in the women’s changquan event.
The competition took place on Wednesday at the Sarawak Sports Corporation (SSC) Wushu Hall.
With an impressive score of 9.603 points, Stephanie secured the top spot, and the gold medal was presented by Sarawak Governor, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Ja’afar.
Speaking to reporters after the medal ceremony, Stephanie reflected on her journey, noting that this was her fourth time competing in SUKMA.
“This year is my last SUKMA, so I wanted to give my best and achieve a great result for Sarawak,” she said.
Stephanie also mentioned that she will be competing in two more events on Thursday and Friday, with hopes of adding another gold to her tally.
“I’ll try my best to get another gold medal,” she said.
