SUKMA 2024: Sarawak Women's Field Bowling shows hope

KUCHING: Sarawak women's bowling singles athlete, Dayang Nur Alia Sharmiela continued to show excellent performance in the J group competition at the Sarawak Lawn Bowls Arena on Wednesday.
She defeated her rival from Perak, Siti Noor Aisyah Abdul Aziz with a score of 21-13 and Nur Qurratu'aini Mohd Zulkifli from Penang with a score of 21-13.
However, different fates befell the three men's team and the four women's team when they lost in the morning and afternoon competitions.
Her coach Nur Fithri Yaani Hamdin when met said, Dayang Nur Alia needs to continue to be consistent for tomorrow's match to qualify for the semi-finals since she has won all the previous competitions.
He said again, tomorrow's match he aims for his students to be in the third level above in the group to qualify for the next level.
"For men's threes, women's fours and men's doubles need to win tomorrow's match in order to be top three in their respective groups.
"I'm sure they can do their best while the opportunity for tomorrow is still there," he said.
Awang Mohammad Sharszan F Awang Nasaruddin, Iskandar Hasbi and Mohamad Amsyar Mohamad Amelin represented the three men who lost against Melaka, Terengganu and Pahang, respectively with points of 10-19, 12-15, 10-20.
Meanwhile, Sarawak's four-woman team consisting of Haspina Mazlan, Mya Zara Amir, Nur Hidayah Faizal and Nur Syurhaidah Asaral were defeated by the Perak and Pahang teams, respectively with the results of 9-11, 9-13.
Meanwhile, the Sarawak men's doubles team consisting of Mohammad Aryan Nazrullah Nazaruddin and Muhammad Ramadhan Mohammad Jeffy defeated the competition from Perak with a result of 17-4 while losing against Perlis with a result of 14-17.-Edisi UKAS
